Lovely Vintage

Lois Lane Vintage Boutique has some very remarkable pieces on its site.  They take vintage pieces and adjust hems and necklines to make them more modern.  While it is a bit disappointing to look through the site to see so many sold signs, it is really worth a look to find that one of a kind great vintage piece.  www.loislanevintage.com

Isaac Mizrahi's creativity?

I saw this on fabsugar.  Isaac Mizrahi's runway was just a bit ridiculous.  I mean u can't REALLY have a hat purse like this....and they arent even that cute of purses, I mean okay, but nothing exceptional.  So all in all, very strange choice.

spring bebe

Spring '09 from BEBE has such a whimsical fairy tale look.  A warm summer nights dream party dress that stands out but isn't over the top.  The feather skirt i think is to die for in the picture, so get some gumption and wear it out to a cocktail party.  The pinks dress, which falls a little bit less like a flower when you aren't pulling it up to show your bum.
the fitted bodice and full but shortish skirt is so easy to pull off for a nicer event or casual flats and cute jacket beauty.

Jennifer Aniston looken good

Miss Jennifer Aniston looks super lovely at the Paris premiere of Marley and Moi.  Simple floral mini dress, black tights and brown heals....are just perfect together.  I like the brown shoes with the black ties, how often do you see that?  I like it, try it out.

Huffer "Free Your Fish"

Huffer is one of New Zealand's main lines.  It is sold in fancy stores like barneys but is totally casual cool clothes that can go day to night.  I love both the dresses and sweatshirts.  Totally have the laid back style that you would expect from New Zealand. On all casual items and denim you can get their signature symbol of three dots forming a triangle. To get a full list of where they are sold in the states go to contacts at www.fordbrady.com or shop online at www.huffer.co.nz
This heart neck line into a fuller skirt on this denim dress with fun buttons is my favorite and huffer had a black version last season.

Melanie Renee

Melanie Renee Daily is the designer of Melanie Renee, a cute collection of 1940s and 50s inspired womens wear.  Ms. Daily and her line is inspired by designers such as Bestey Johnson, Wenlan and of course Ms. Coco Chanel herself.  The line is made in San Louis Obispo, California with natural fabrics from organic cotton to vibrant silk blends.  Prices are totally reasonable with being around the hundred dollar mark.  Check out the lovely pieces at www.melanierennedesign.com

Christian V Siriano

The "fierce" project runway season four winner  Christian V Siriano showed his spring 2009 collection at NY fashion week.  It goes with the trend of blousey tops.  Color scheme of mainly greys, black, whites and mustard greenish yellow with a splash of orange.  There was lots of sheer tops and jackets which was interesting.  Lets see if sheer starts filtering down into other lines.

Red Carpet Lookout

At this years Oscars keep a look out for Marchesa dresses.  They are a huge hit with actresses like Jennifer Lopez, Dita von Teese, Miley Cyrus, Eva Longoria, Siena Miller and many more.  The creators of Marchesa are two women designers who come from a costume design background.  They create vintage and asian inspired evening and cocktail gowns. The beautiful layers take the geometric interesting shape and style from todays fashion.  Its like you want to see the gorgeous dresses in swan lake.  So keep your eyes out for this seasons grey, black, white, gold and a little bit of lilac on Sunday for the Oscars.

thigh high stockings!

See even ms. rebecca bloomwood (and by rebbeca bloomwood I mean the very amazing and talented Patricia Fields).  And if Pat Fields thinks thigh high stockings are in, then they are most most definitely in, or at least they should be.  Don't wear them to work though, they may be better for going out.

Silk Scarves

When I think of scarves I think of The Devil Wears Prada, not the movie, but the book and how "The Devil" ALWAYS needed her Hermes scarf.  The silk scarves also continued in the movie Le Divorce (which I believe were also hermes), very french culture.  Well silk scarves are gorgeous and should be brought back in.  The much more sophisticated way of doing a scarf.  Floral, geometric, patterned, whatever you want- scarves scream I am a sophisticated classy woman!  But don't worry you don't have to go Hermes, Burberry or Chanel for scarves.  These scarves shown are Hermes and Diana Von Furstenberg.  Any department store will have tons of scarves.  Go to www.nordstromes.com

Frills Frills Everywhere

Frilly girly tops are popping up all over the place.  They work for work clothes, they work for afterwork clothes.  Really, they are a fabulous way of adding a little bit of fun and flare with still looking but together.  You can get just a little frill and Banana Republic or a lot of frill at Kensie Girl.   Warm colors are great, but I think it is fun to mellow the frill out a little bit with a color that you wouldn't expect a big frill on, like light silvery gray or a beautiful blue.  These three in order from left to right are from BCBG, Nanette Lepore Dearest (musehoustonshop.com) and Banana Republic.

Sheri Bodell

LA designer Sheri Bodell is definitely a combination of casual glamour and rock and roll.  Her dresses are perfect for a night on the town having fun and looking good.  She is the stylist for tons of celebs and does all the top fashion magazines editorials.  Every season builds off of each other to a new step.  The Spring '08  was dark and bold, but now Spring '09 is still rocker but following the lighter side of trends this season.  While the economy is down, fashion continues to be uplifting.  Sheri Bodell is sold at Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Blonde, Plant Blue and many more so check out her beautiful clothes at her beautiful website http://sheribodell.com

Life of Trash and Luxury

Trash and Luxury has a great loose shape for their tshirts.  Give you space to breath but material swings to hit your body just right. A little big and great with some black pants and boots.  All the designs are a little art deco 1920s.  My favorite are the ones that are anti war, such as the best one "Make up Not War" and another good one "Glamour not Guns".  They are cool and casual and comfy and chic.  Therefore I love, because i am all about the big tshirts that don't look like your p.j.s.  They are sold at revolveclothing.com or thecloset.com   the official website of the brand is www.trashandluxury.com, but that really doesn't offer much info or help.

Rag and Bone

Rag and Bone's line does runway clothes that are for the common stylish person with out being over the top.  They do a mens line as well, but their womens line for this season is mainly nautical and safari inspired.  It is very clean cut like ralph lauren and tommy hilfiger with a little less preppy look.  It is beauitful and fun and I would recommend looking into them.  Plus their name is great, so go for it.  www.ragandbone.com

Sale

Bloomingdales is having 25-40% off this week.  Sales are the absolute best part of this economy (maybe the only good part) so look up bloomys!

Pearly Whites

J Crew has some new beautiful jewelry out that is to die for.  Totally beautiful and looks like its worth a million bucks, while only costing around $75.  It really is gorgeous and can be statement pieces against just a plain outfit.  It makes your outfit pop without having to break the bank.  Plus jewelry is a really great way if making things exciting and clever without being silly. One of htese necklaces have an elephant on it, i love!   Check them out at jcrew.com

Patricia Field's Shopaholic

The very very famous Patricia Fields most known for the wardrobe of Sex and the City, Devil Wears Prada and most recently Confessions of a Shopaholic is known as the "it" stylist.  Currently she just came out with a line, Barbie, celebrating Barbie's 50th birthday.  It is fantastic complete with the exact outfits you dressed your dolls in, just better fit.  To see Patricia Fields lines and other products she sells in her New York boutique please look at her website www.patriciafields.com

The Covenant Green

The eco conscious movement is gaining power.  More and more designers are making eco friendly lines. Unfortunately alot of those lines tend to be more about the fact that they are environmentally aware than the fashion.  Covenant Green however made this INCREDIBLY cute dress that is almost comical in its statement for green fashion.  The silk dress has an oil rig at the bottom but  manages to make the design incredibly cute.  Covenant Green's line is made of organic cotton, silk, soy and hemp fabric with low impact dyes.  To purchase the dress or other mens or women clothes from the line go to www.covenantgreen.com

Elizabeth and James

Elizabeth and James, the Olsen twins more affordable line (I say affordable almost jokingly, but it is better than The Row).  Well their jewelry is now available at the Planet Blue near you.  Silvers and muted golds, crosses, interesting shapes, snakes.  It fits perfectly with the olsen twins style.  Fashionable, interesting and alot of it oversized.  They are interesting pieces, so check them out at either www.elizabethandjames.com or www.shopplanetblue.com

First Ever Barbie Fashion Show

At 3pm EST the first ever Barbie runway show will be aired live at www.fabsugar.com

get muffy with it

Don't you ever wish that some of the upper class Victorian dress would have lasted?  I mean the class, always looking your best even if you can't breath in that corset.  Well your hands can at least stay warm with a muff.  Who needs mittens when you can stick your hands into a cozy muff and look fabulous.  I mean I love gloves too, but when you are looking to add some excitement to your outfit then the muff is the thing to have on chilly nights.  I had to search around on line for these but I found them at www.simplyoz.com and www.saaridesign.com

About TIME you went to URBAN

Pink fun and flirty watches for Valentines Day!  I love love the one with the gun on it.  They are so cute and make watches fun and actual accessories.  You know watches are coming back in, so you don't have to pull out your cell for the time.  So go pink, know the time, look good.  Remember, love is the new hate.

Distressed vs. Classic Denim

So for Distressed Denim there is a new Canadian line called Pacificthorn.  What makes them different than other distressed denim lines is that instead of sanding down their jeans, they shoot guns.  The distress is from bullet holes.  I mean, it kind of sounds like a big use of money, but then on the other hand isn't that really cool?? Like wouldn't you feel totally kick ass if your jeans had gun shots in them!  You can't buy them in the states yet, but to get a better picture at the jeans and to order directly from the company go to www.pacificthorn.com

For classic denim though I know there are alot of lines, but i still say 7's are the ultimate.  They fit perfectly.  Give you some shape and don't emphasize the chub chubs.  The skinny sevens gwenevere are the best skinny jeans I have ever seen.  Really, they look awesome on, and i normally think the only people who should be wearing skinny jeans with anything but boots are the Olsen twins and like Nicole Richie. www.7forallmankind.com

Goth with a Heart

Black Hearts Brigade is a super comfy awesome line that has a bit of a goth edge.  Expect shirts that have crosses and rosaries.  The cloth feels like jersey and it hangs on you like an american apparel tshirt (even though its not, just the same fit and feel).  The women mini dresses also come in tshirts.  Go a size too big and enjoy the slouchy comfy look.  It will hit your body to show ur shape without clinging.  Apparently with a bright light behind they are see through, so maybe some leggings or cigarette jeans if u like the tunic.  www.blackheartsbrigade.com

Style Role Model

I love Kate Hudson's fashion taste.  She is so much like her mom, just still stuck back in 1974.  I've noticed she is a big Gucci fan.  She owns this Gucci Suit and wore this Gucci Caftan to the People's Choice Awards.  So take a hint from kate, find a color you like and go for it.  Go bright or go home.

Baseman Series

These are made by Harvey's, the seatbelt bag company.  Harvey's makes bags and wallets out of seatbelts and are incredibly sturdy.  i'm more of a leather purse fan, but the Baseman Series I think is great.  Very fun, remind you of when you were a little kid and they have a hand drawn surprise on the inside.  Plus the purse literally fits so so much into it.  Gary Baseman is an artist who painted and worked with vinyl toys before his collaboration with Harvey's.

RoManEk LA

These purses are really cool rocker fun.  They became popular a little while ago but over all Romanek has stayed a small company completely run by bridget romanek, her hubby is in film and she started Romanek LA.  This is the most popular purse, it is made of crocodile and unravels like a fruit by the foot.  For you lawyers out there they have a really amazing envelope folder that I couldn't get a picture of but you can find at their website www.romanekla.com

You can also find Romanek at Barneys and Fred Segal.

Great Ascot!

So Ashton Kutcher apparently vowed on twitter that he was going to bring the ascot back.  I would like to think that Chuck Bass is the one really pushing for the ascot, but now its been on American Idol too.  I'm all for it, bring back old trends, its hott and classy.  Why not, everyone is manscaping these days, so why not just cover up that hair with an ascot?

Carpe Dillon Rogers

You have probably seen message bracelets and necklaces around with cutesy sayings.  Well if you are like me and tempted by all the fun messages, especially on some soft leather, you need to go for Dillon Rogers.  The bracelets are awesome and can be layered.  You can go girly or rocker edge. Really anything and they have fun details like maybe a sparkle or beads hanging off.  I layer a green and gold one all the time, my boss is all about the red Love bracelet...really, something for everyone, and anyways...always good to remember to Seize the Day right??? www.DillonRogers.com
