Leighton Meester obviously thought she should try out for My So Called Life. At the Proenza Schouler fashion show, Leighton was looking very out dated. Cher would probably be proud of her cropped top style and Ty look alike appearance. I wish I could just continue to make 90s references, like Will Smith would probably have cast her as a ULA student on Fresh Prince. okay ill stop.

I love the Leighton always takes chances though. You can't be a total fashion success without being a victim every once in awhile. Maybe next time a Blossom hat?

I LOVE this nicole richie photo from InStyle UK. It is so NOT what we have been seeing of nicole at all. Like this new look is so perfect for her because a. its a magazine so they should change her from the norm and b. we have seen her in enough boho. I also love that its not obsessing ab any of the current trends. In fact they are only hitting on sheering with the boots and crossing that against the lace texture. Je Adore. A plus.

Two Pieces I am Craving

So these are completely unrelated- but I totally want both of them. The first is a J Crew bra

Now I realize that it is just a basic black bra- but i love the very slight sweet sexiness. My absolute favorite part is the thick band underneath the regular cups- so if you were wearing it with a slightly sheer shirt- it would be little bit more covered and a little bit more interesting. I think its fantastic.

I rarely want other people's jewelry. And I am a little over the cliche snake motif but this is so good who can resist this amazing triple finger ring!

That is just too good- and alot of work for someone to carve out before casting. Plus at least you know snakes will always be in jewelry. so its a life time piece- obvs.

Leopard has been all over the runways...like this very over the top Lavin Fall 2010 ensamble

or on celebs, like miss mk olsen...

but i just don't see this trend being super huge in the every day. In fact if you want to do it may I suggest ballet flats, or a thin belt, or even a head band. For the realllllly brave i suppose you could do a jacket- but even that i would do a short hits you at the hip jacket, not a long coat. I went even more subtle with just a key chain- i know, very unbrave of me.

I think there has been an undercurrent of the color black for summer this year. While I this must have come from all the neutral trends going around- I was still alittle surprised to see it. Fashion Toast rocked it with the 20s updated black mini dress. Julianne More wore it to David Letterman with some very sexy summer heals.

oh I love this line- why did i not know about it before! Isabel Marant's line layers with lots of casual and then one pop of bold. Her runway show for fall winter 2010-2011 featured fun early 60s notes like cropped pants and tough little biker jackets. Sparkle on subdude colors, clear statement earrings- all about the understated done in an exciting way. other additions included short tulip skirts and shorts and obi leather belts.

Fantastic way of showing you do NOT need to have every element of your outfit be over the top to be runway ready. You can practically see everyone of her outfits on the streets of new york or broken down to casualize it even more.

So, even though i never thought i would, i think i am liking this new trend of denim on denim. I mean- california is the home of fashionable denim design (in fun fun Vernon...)- so I should support my state. So put on ur motorcycle denim jacket or ur loose button up and wear it with pride! You don't have to wear your blues on blues, feel just as comfortable wearing your denim jackets with everything else too while you are at it.

This it korean star UEE in the new S/S 2010 add campaign. I mean it looks casual good- a change up from the flannel trend right?

See Reese rocks the trend well with her southern charm.

BUT i will say I DO NOT support longer denim skirts coming back. My one time sorority tried to make us do that once, annnd let me just say....not hot.

Stella McCartney just put this spring 2010 runway. i mean no disrespect to Stella, cause the trend is out there so someone must be buying it- but really- just say nooooo.

While I am not a fan of animal print tights, I do think this bell shaped skirt is super fun. The pink ribbon belt is a lovely contrast and would be totally simple to do yourself. Plus the booties are always a great addition to short skirts- ESPECIALLy if you have thin or long legs.

This i think is the best way to overlap styles. Got a little 80 with acid wash, some 70s with the jacket some 90s with the torn jeans, 00s with the perfect skinny jeans. I mean mix and match it. Plus love the little Asian doll for her daughter. Nice touch to spread cultural instead of just ur normal cabbage patch.

Oh wonderful wonderful Chanel. Is there a more classic line. For their Fall 2009 collection what surprised me most on there ready to wear line was the splashes of green that was used. I haven't seen this color much, but maybe it is making a come back. If chanel says so, others will follow.

Chanel also released a Paris Moscow order only line. Intricate details show the moscow skyline peeking up at the bottom of the classic quilted bag. On this bag you can see the new twisty C's chanel logo. Just spicing things up.

Put back on your black eyeliner, long black lace dress and doc martins. Goth is peeking its depressed face around the corner. I think the look is now more romantic goth. i think Fendi sort of missed the big floral train where these pretty flowers were on every single dress out there. Now would it be possible to make a one strap purse to match the new trend on "every single dress". But this Fendi is romantic and lovely. The way the flowers grow from pink to white, I think this could be a piece that stays in your collection forever. Vinyl toy designer and artist Gary Baseman is having a show in Culver City at the Corey Helford Gallery (8522 Washington Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232). The show is called La Noche de La Fusion- A Celebration and is going to be on May 2nd from 6:30-10pm. Opening celebrations will include women in Baseman inspired costumes, fire performers, samba dancers and more. The show goes until the 23rd and really should be a must see. Now I hope that fashion designers are just getting bored, but really, did they need to bring back shoulder pads?? really? I mean cap sleeves are cute. i'm down with that, but shoulder pads? The "T shape" is meant to make ur shoulders look wider and therefore the rest of your body look smaller. So even though Lady Gaga maybe able to have fun with exagerations, I so do not think William Rast should have included shoulder pads in everything, even T Shirts. As my sister was quick to point out, now is a free for all, you can do whatever you want. So, don't do this. Unless you are a pop star. =)

Ok I found this on fabsugar and I just had to share. This is a bra that you are supposed to draw on. I guess that the goal is for young girls to feel more comfortable with growing up, but its just so hippie and weird and could be kind of kinky. The design u draw doesn't even stay, each time you wash ur bra its like a new opportunity to draw on your own tits. its like those old doodle bears that came in stonewashed blue and pint. plus this Doodle Bra comes with stencils so you can make ur bra so pretty. haha. just so silly.

Why spend 50 dollars on some clever quote someone came up with when you can put it on your own dog tag, or ring, or watch or whatever. I have one with a robin hood quote and i really love it, wear it all the time. Plus its really just so cheap to get. If you sign up for their mailing list there are always discounts they are offering, but i warn u, there is a new one every day. so give it to yourself or an inside joke between friends, I might go for something more original than the engravings they suggest. make it totally amazing and totally you.
